.Where is your car storage facility located?

Our dedicated dry, indoor car storage facility is conveniently located near Hitchin, Hertfordshire with superb access to both the A1(M) and M1. Our secure indoor facility further benefits from its discreet rural location. We don’t publish our exact physical address online for security and privacy reasons.

What security do you have at your car storage facility?

Professionally installed 24 Hr CCTV and a monitored alarm system are in place, in addition to high security physical lock systems. Our alarm system notifies us (by telephone) of any events, in addition to email notifications. Our CCTV images can be viewed remotely, on smartphones and online.

Can I visit your car storage premises?

For our existing customers security & privacy only employees of Hertfordshire Vehicle Storage Ltd are permitted to access our location. We’re more than happy to meet potential customers in person and discuss their requirements at our partner business Classic Car Revivals in Offley

How do I deliver or collect my vehicle?

Collection & delivery is at our partner business location, Classic Car Revivals in Offley. We understand it isn’t always convenient for you to drop of or collect your vehicle and can arrange transportation to your preferred location. Contact us for more information on this service. We can also meet (or drop off) our customers at local train stations including Hitchin & Luton Airport Parkway.

What if I want to use my car?

We’re classic car owners and enthusiasts, and firmly believe our customers should enjoy flexible access to their cars. Unlike most car storage businesses, we don’t ask for 14 days notice if you want to enjoy your car. Call, text or email us with 48hrs notice of when you’d like to remove your car from storage. Our normal hours for vehicle collection & delivery are Mon-Fri 10am-5pm (8pm on Thursdays). Longer notice is typically required for weekends and outside normal hours (a service charge of £50 applies to weekends and outside normal hours). We aim to be as flexible as possible.

I need car storage for an unfinished project or non-runner. Can you help?

Absolutely, several of our customers store their project or non-running cars with us. We can collect your car and move it into storage for additional cost. Contact us for more information or to discuss your requirements.

I need secure car storage for my modern camper van or motorhome, can you help?

Yes! We also provide motorhome and larger modern camper van storage. All our vehicle storage is indoors

How much does car storage cost?

Car storage costs depend on the size of the vehicle, but as a guide our car storage costs for a Porsche 911 (and all cars less than 3.5m in length) are £35 per week or £151.66 per month (including VAT). Our car storage costs are available here

How do I prepare my car for storage?

We’ve prepared a short list of key steps in our blog, you can read it here. We recommend your vehicle is clean and dry when it comes to us. We can take care of any of the preparation steps (contact us for costs), and of course we supply and fit car covers and take care of battery charging as standard.

Whats included with car storage?

When your car arrives for entry to storage, we’ll complete our check-in process. Multiple photos will be taken to capture your vehicles condition, any damage noted and an odometer reading taken. We take the time to get to know your car, understand any alarm/immobiliser operation and any special requirements you have. Lastly, we’ll confirm the battery location and any special instructions for connecting a battery charger. Your car will then be moved into storage, a battery charger connected and (if dry) a soft cover placed over it to protect during storage. Your keys will be secured in a lockbox at a 2nd location

How do I pay for car storage?

Once your car is in storage we’ll send you an invoice. Storage is payable in advance, by bank transfer or standing order and our bank details are on your invoice. Alternatively we can set up a direct debit and invoice you at your preferred payment frequency.
